868 The first two chapters of this book were excellent. I read the five star reviews, and received a personal recommendation from a woman I met randomly who said it’s a must-have book, so I bought it. But I’m shocked and greatly disappointed now that I’m reading the prayers. The scriptures are taken grossly out of context. Basically, if you think Jer. 29:11 is an awesome verse and you’ve claimed it for your life, this book will be a hit for you. But if you have studied the Word of God and crave the real meat of the Word, you’re not going to find it in this book. The connections the author is using between the scriptures and parts of the body are really a stretch and that’s putting it mildly. For example, claiming the favor Joseph found in Genesis 39 for your husband...I found myself dumbfounded. Please read Joseph’s story. I’d pray that my husband had that kind of character, perseverance in suffering, restraint, faithfulness and wisdom, but for the author to start day one’s prayer with the blessing first...I am just shocked. And then to be asked that your husband be known just as Enoch was known...Enoch?! He walked with God and didn’t see death...that’s how incredible Enoch was. You could pray that your husband has such a walk, but to go straight for the fame of Enoch over your husband? If your husband had the walk of Enoch, you would not be purchasing this book; I guarantee it. And then on day two the author is using Deuteronomy 31:8, which tells what Moses spoke to Joshua as he was given leadership over Israel. You can’t claim that promise for your husband. You can learn the character of our God from it, but just like Jeremiah 29:11, which was God’s words to the Jews in Babylonian captivity, we cannot automatically assume that those words directly apply to an individual today. Please be careful. Study your Bible to understand the context of the Scripture.
